Pancakes and Pajama party

I can't believe how fast the time flies! My sweet Zoey bear turned 5 years old already. I feel like time is so precious with our fur children so we have to savor every moment we get.

In keeping with my complete inability not to go overboard on any party I plan, we opted instead for a lower key at home brunch with the family this year. I don't regret it at all and it was so relaxing!! Since I love any excuse to eat breakfast any time, we opted for a pancakes and pajamas theme. This theme is so easy to pull off and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun party theme for the kiddos or fur kids.

I tried to link some of the options I used for party inspiration in case you want to replicate or are feeling inspired!

The top of the buffet features human friendly fare, with a selection of breakfast favorites such as waffles, bacon, donuts, and freshly brewed Starbucks coffee.

The bottom features dog friendly fare such as gluten free banana coconut pancakes and custom made dog cookies in a breakfast theme.

These are Dukan friendly donuts that are sugar free but turned out surprisingly yummy. I made a guilt free glaze of sugar free maple syrup/fat free whip cream that was delish.

I have been special ordering these custom cookies for years and they are amazing for dogs! The owner is a devoted dog lover and yorkie owner herself and custom creates these special treats with healthy dog friendly ingredients. Zoey loves them and looks forward to her special cookie order every year.

Dog Friendly Banana Pancakes
1 mushy banana (sort of brown)
1 egg
dash of cinnamon
1 tbsp coconut flour
coconut oil, for pan

In a bowl mash up banana with the egg until most of the chunks are gone (you could also use a hand mixer). Then stir in the coconut flour and cinnamon and let it sit while you grease the pain with coconut oil. Use a lot, these things stick! Heat a non stick pan then add a tablespoon (depending on how big you want it) and spread to a circle. Wait until it bubbles a bit and gently flip. Cook until golden brown, rinse and repeat.
These are so yummy, I ate a couple "test" ones myself.

Optional Blueberry (dog safe) to make it pretty!

The owner and I worked together to think up some authentic looking breakfast items and settled on a buttered pancake, friend egg, and strip of bacon. Zoey loved them!!
